The model that will inherit Aventador in the lineup of the Italian manufacturer of supercar Lamborghini will get a hybrid drive. The strength of the power unit will be about 1000 hp, revealed director of the research department of the company, Maurizio Reggiani, at the Detroit Motor Show.
Switching to hybrid technology becomes a must for the brand as it is the way it can cover the new levels of harmful emissions. At the same time, the use of an additional electric motor will allow for an increase in power.
The successor of Lamborghini Aventador will be ready in 2020, with a new name and a new internal combustion engine. This will be the V8 Twin-Turbo, developing around 800 hp. In combination with it will work one or two electric motors, which will make the power of the car reach 1000 hp.
The new Italian supercar will retain the 7-speed robotic gearbox and the active aerodynamics system, which are currently being used in the Huracán Performante modification.
