The concept of the Jaguar E-Type Zero, a year ago, will still be an official model, Jaguar Classic said.
The reason for the decision to have the classic model changed significantly is the many queries and wishes of customers and fans of the brand. Except for the production of new electric E-Type, the owners of the classic model will be able to order, if necessary, the restoration and conversion to a fully electric version of their cars. However, to preserve the authenticity of the changed cars, Jaguar Classic says the processing will be reversible.
The future E-Type Zero will be able to travel about 270 km on a single charge and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will probably take just over 5 seconds. As far as the battery is concerned, it is possible to have a power of 40 kWh and full charging to take about 6 hours. Its dimensions will be the same as the original 6-cylinder engine of the model.
The weight and the location of the battery and the electric motor will be preserved, which, according to Jaguar, will not change the overall road behavior typical of the original E-Type. No more data is yet available on the future revised classics, but many I-pace components are also believed to be used.
Orders for the future E-Type Zero are already accepted and deliveries to first customers must be made in the summer of 2020.
