Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR

Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR

Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR is the highest among the front-wheel-drive cars of the brand. Of course, we also have a more powerful Golf GTI Clubsport S with 306 hp, but it’s a limited edition and is now out of date.

Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR features a 2.0-litre TSI turbo 4-cylinder unit, delivering 286 hp at 5,400-6,400 rpm and 380 Nm of torque, constantly available from 1950 to 5300 rpm.

The engine is connected to a standard 7-speed automatic DSG double-clutch transmission that drives the front wheels. The accelerations from 0 to 100 km/h take 5.6 seconds and the maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h. However, customers have the opportunity to remove the limiter, allowing the Golf GTI TCR to reach its natural maximum speed of 260 km/h.

Only Golf R accelerates faster to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and reaches 267 km/h when it comes with the optional 7-speed DSG transmission and Performance Pack.

You can easily recognize the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR thanks to the unique front and rear bumpers that have a splitter at the front and a diffuser at the rear, as well as an exclusive roof spoiler and a standard stainless steel exhaust system.

Other exclusive features are the 18-inch “Belvedere” forged wheels (19-inch “Reifnitz” and “Pretoria” optional), smoked headlamps and taillights, optional black ceiling and mirror covers, and a new “Pure Gray” colour.

Inside, the Golf GTI TCR features a red ribbed steering wheel, sporty microfiber seats and exclusive design, red stitching along the cab (including safety belts) and a new interior. From the point of view of the equipment, the Golf GTI TCR offers almost everything standard.

The list includes automatic LED lights, active information display, interior lighting, rain sensor wipers, 8-speaker infotainment system, dual zone climate control, progressive steering, emergency braking assistance, pedestrian tracking and more.

In addition to the powerful drive, the standard hardware also includes a high-quality brake system with perforated front discs, special brake linings and red brake callipers, as well as a front locking differential and two additional water coolers for additional cooling.

The main option is the Dynamic Chassis Adaptive Dynamic Adjustment System (DCC), which provides a lower ride height of 5 mm from the standard Golf GTI and adjustable shock absorbers.
