BMW 8-Series Convertible

The German manufacturer BMW continues its model offensive in the luxury segment and presented the new 8-Series in the convertible version. The car comes with a choice of engine and comes with модерн driver assistance and connectivity, including BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant technology.

The roof of the BMW 8-Series Convertible is made of soft textile, with optimized weight and good sound insulation. In the closed state, it stretches over the interior and gives the car the characteristic stepped silhouette of the coupe. The textile roof in the serial version is black, but as an option it can be gray. It opens and closes for 15 seconds after pressing a button, at a speed of up to 50 km/h.

Its M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology includes two Twin-Scroll air coolers located in the space between the two rows of cylinders, direct injection of High Precision Injection, fully variable VALVETRONIC valve control and variable control of the VANOS camshafts.

Engine power is 530 hp and maximum torque is 750 Nm. This allows the BMW M850i ​​xDrive to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

The BMW 840d xDrive version relies on the TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine with technology including cascade overfill and Common-Rail direct injection system with piezo injectors. The power of the unit is 320 hp and the maximum torque is 680 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.2 seconds.

Both engines meet the Euro 6d-TEMP emission standard. The units are combined with the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and the four-wheel drive BMW xDrive. The gasoline version offers a M-Sport differential with electronic control.

The new BMW 8-Series Convertible is standardly equipped with tires of different sizes on the front and rear axles as well as adaptive M-suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers. An anti-tilt system is available as an option and is available for the BMW M850i ​​xDrive version.
