VW Golf GTI TCR will become a decent alternative to Golf R, but with front-wheel drive and 286 hp.
Volkswagen introduced the most powerful version of Golf GTI – TCR. The hatchback will have a 2-liter unit and a turbocharger. The power will be transmitted to the front axle via a seven-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. With its 286 hp, the TCR has a total of 44 hp more than a standard GTI or just 10 hp less than Golf R.
The car will accelerate to 100 km/h for 5.6 seconds and the maximum speed will be limited to 250 km/h.
The new VW Golf GTI TCR arrives with several cosmetic exterior changes. These include a new spoiler, diffuser, and black mirrors. Other interesting improvements are limited slip differential and front brake discs.
In Germany, they already take orders for the powerful Golf, starting at 38,000 EUR.
