A total of 32.1 million SUVs from all segments were sold on the world markets in 2018. This is an increase of 6.0% compared to 2017.
The most successful segment is C, with 17.775 million new cars (+3.2% YoY). Next is the segment “D” with 11.607 million new cars (+7.1% YoY), segment “B” with 2.023, million news cars (+6.3% YoY), segment “E” with 0.527 million new cars and segment “F” with 0.215 million new cars (+0.67%).
The 2018 sales leader in the models is the Japanese crossover Toyota RAV4. In 2018, 830,930 units were sold, which is 3.7% more than 2017. The second position is the Volkswagen Tiguan with 789,930 units (+8.4%) and the third is the Honda CR-V with 741,300 sales (-2.3%).
Among the Top 10 are also Hyundai Tuscon, Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage, Haval H6, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Rogue and Chevrolet Equinox.
