Police cars in the US always impress with their brutal appearance and the new Ford Explorer is no exception to this rule. The model has just emerged on the market, and its version is now ready for law enforcement.
So far, the company does not disclose the technical characteristics of the machine, but they still specify that it will get 3 versions. These are the 3.3-litre gasoline V6, which will also be available for hybrid modification as well as the 3.0-litre EcoBoost. Only 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system are available for all versions.
The police version of the SUV has received a sophisticated cooling system and special brakes with steel discs designed for high-speed chases. In addition, this Ford Explorer has a special towing system that can withstand a load of up to 2,268 kg.
The saloon of the car is made of special, easy-to-clean tissue. There is also a tracking system for “potentially dangerous behaviour” that automatically closes the doors and windows when an emergency occurs. The SUV is also specially reinforced to be able to withstand another car or obstacle on the road.
