A picture of the serial version of the new generation Volkswagen Touareg was published on Facebook. Photographs are said to have been made in South Africa, as the local edition of Cars first came to them.
As it was supposed, the third generation of the SUV was created based on the concept of the T-Prime GTE. The Touareg will use the MLB platform, which is the basis of the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga.
According to preliminary information, the 3.6-liter atmospheric V6 will be available in the engine range as well as the 3.0-liter Diesel with 218 hp. A hybrid modification will also occur at a later stage.
A prototype of the new generation of Polo was parked next to the VW Touareg. Both the big crossover and the compact hatch will debut during the autosalon in Frankfurt in the autumn.
Judging by the pictures, the new Polo will be a smaller version of VW Golf, which shares the same MQB platform. The length of the hatch will increase by 200 mm, but because of the new chassis the weight will decrease by 70 kg. The quality of the materials in the salon will be improved, and the equipment crash will be expanded.
The engine range will consist of 1.0 to 1.5-liter petrol turbos and 1.6-liter diesel. The engines will be combined with 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearboxes as well as 6-speed and 7-speed robotic DSG transmissions.
