The British manufacturer of sports cars Lotus will present a brand new car in 2020. This will be the first model of the brand after part of it was bought by the Chinese Geely. The new sports car will be built on a completely redesigned version of the current Lotus Aluminum platform and will be available earlier than the next generation of Elise, Exige and Evora models.
It is expected that the car will retain the excellent driving capability inherent in the brand cars but will offer more practicality and amenities for everyday travel. It will have improved ergonomics and a modern information and entertainment system.
It is not known, however, what drive the next Lotus models will rely on. The company has already announced that they are electrifying their cars, but it is not clear whether they will be hybrids or all-electric vehicles.
It is clear, however, that the new Elise, Exige, and Evora will have a different platform that is currently being developed with the help of Geely.
