Skoda’s new crossover will be called Kosmiq

Skoda Kosmiq

The Czech manufacturer Skoda has registered the trade name Kosmiq. So far, the company does not tell which model will be given, but according to the information so far, it will be the future compact crossover of the brand.

The model is expected to move closer to the recent Volkswagen T-Cross. The name Kosmiq fits perfectly with the company’s range of Mlada Boleslav, which currently includes the Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq models.

The future crossover will largely repeat the Skoda Vision X concept shown at the Paris Motor Show this autumn. Its premiere will take place at the Geneva exhibition in spring and serial production will start in the summer of 2019

The compact SUV will be built on the MQB A0 platform and will receive standard power units used by Skoda and Volkswagen cars. These are gasoline and diesel engines with a volume of 1.0 to 1.6 liters.
