Skoda has shown sketches of its concept Vision RS, the world premiere of which will take place at the Paris Motor Show in early October.
The serial version will in turn replace the Skoda Rapid Spaceback and will be in the refined Fabia style as well as the brand’s crossovers. The company announced the exact size of the model. Its length increases by 52 mm and reaches 1810 mm and the width is 1810 mm (+104 mm). The height is 1431 mm (-28 mm), and the distance between the two axes will be 2650 mm (+48 mm). This means that the Fabia moves into a C+ class where VW Golf is.
On what engine will Vision RS count, it’s not clear. According to preliminary data, the production model will receive Volkswagen 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engines as well as 1.6 TDI. However, the diesel engine is under questioning, at least for now.
The premiere of the new Fabia is likely to take place at the end of 2019, with the Rapid name likely to remain a lifts for emerging markets. And the hatch got a name that is known from the history of Skoda, but for now it is kept secret.
