The Czech manufacturer Skoda revealed the sporty version of its Kodiaq crossover. She will receive an RS add-on to her name and will be the most expensive model in the brand range. As a price, the car will not give way to the top-of-the-line Superb with 280 hp as well as the Octavia RS 245.
The drivetrain of the Skoda Kodiaq RS is entrusted to the most powerful version of the 2.0-liter TDI engine with two turbochargers. The engine develops 240 hp. and 500 Nm of torque, working in combination with a 7-speed DSG transmission and a four-wheel drive system with a rear axle lock.
Dynamic performance has not yet been announced, but the crossover is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and develop a top speed of 230 km/h. For comparison, the Superb version with 280 hp. raises 100 km/h from a spot in 5.8 seconds, and Octavia’s top version – in 6.6 seconds.
From the standard Kodiaq RS version, the original 20-inch Xtreme wheels (235/45 R20 size), the rear-view mirror across the rear bumper, the different front air intakes, and the black ones instead of the chrome ones. LED headlamps come in the standard equipment of the model.
In the salon of new seats with integrated headrests, cut steering wheel and metal pedals. The virtual instrument panel is included in the basic equipment and has an additional “sports” mode in which the tachometer and mileage indicators move to the center of the display.
In addition, the Kodiaq RS becomes the first Skoda model to feature Dynamic Sound Boost. With its help, the columns of the audio system create the driver and passengers the illusion of aggressive engine sound.
