Rolls-Royce Motor Cars officially unveiled the eighth generation of its flagship Rolls-Royce Phantom, which will have to regain its title “The Most Luxury Car on the Planet”.

A manufacturer’s representative said the sedan provides new levels of elegance and luxury. At the core of the Mk8 modification is the specially designed aluminum chassis Architecture of Luxury, which is very flexible and can be used for different sizes of cars as well as for different engines and drive systems.

In general, the new Rolls-Royce Phantom platform is 30% more rigid than that of its predecessor. It will be at the core of all future British brand models, including Ghost, Wraith and Dawn, as well as Project Cullinan, which will be the first SUV in the history of a British brand.

The eighth generation sedan equipment also includes adaptive pneumatic suspension, which makes millions of calculations per second and instantly responds to changes in the steering and acceleration. It is designed to offer customers “striking levels of control” of the car.

The new generation of the limousine is also positioned as the “quietest car in the world”. For this purpose, engineers use more than 130 kg. special insulating material, and also have a special 6-mm lacquer coating on the bodywork. The sedan has taught and specially developed Silent-Seal tires with a complementary layer of foam, leveling tread noise.

The car will be available in two versions – Rolls-Royce Phantom and Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB. The limousine’s standard equipment includes a circular view and night vision system, adaptive cruise control, a projection display, a pedestrian-detection collision hazard warning function, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and multimedia navigation complex.

Sedan drive is entrusted to a modernized V12 twin-turbo engine with a volume of 6.75 liters. The power of the engine is 571 hp and the maximum torque reaches 900 Nm. The gearbox is an 8-speed automatic ZF that works with many of the vehicle’s systems, including satellite navigation.

The first customers will get their cars early next year. Phathom’s eighth generation starts at 400,000 GBP.
