The world’s most luxurious SUV is now officially on the market after Rolls-Royce introduced its Cullinan model just at 14:00 local time on May 10th. This is the first off-road vehicle, the first with a rear door and the first with folding rear seats.

“The extraordinary lifestyle is evolving and Rolls-Royce is at the forefront of this trend, and luxury is no longer an urban concept,” said Peter Schwartzenbauer, a member of BMW’s board of directors. According to him, this is a car for customers who want “unlimited access to the ultimate luxury”.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan bears the name of the largest diamond ever found in South Africa. This is the first three-volume machine in the history of the most luxurious brand. It is built on the same aluminum architecture as the new Phantom, and has already undergone extensive trials across the planet, from Kenya and the UAE to the Alps.

The drivetrain is entrusted to the 6.75-liter Rolls-Royce V12 engine with a twin turbo that develops 563 horsepower and 850 Nm of maximum torque. However, the four-wheel drive system is all new.

The British claim to offer the best rear seats in the world in two configurations – an individual with two separate armchairs, and a Lounge that can hold up to three passengers. The backrests can also be folded – also a novelty in the century-old brand history. Of course, this is done by electromotors, just by pressing a button. The rear seat rack seats 560 liters. If necessary, Cullinan can load longer items even from Range Rover’s long base. However, the cargo space is separated from the passenger with a removable transparent barrier.

When unlocked, the car is automatically lowered by 40 mm to make the upload more comfortable. The doors are closed by pressing a button like Phantom.

Its creators insist that this is the most technologically advanced car of its kind in the world. It has a night vision system, 4 panoramic range cameras, active cruise control and an active tape support assistant, as well as the largest head-up display to date (7×3).

The rear seats are located higher than the front seats, which ensures excellent visibility through the large windows. The rear seats also have a large touchscreen with navigation and access to all other systems. Cullinan has five USB ports. The doors are specially designed to protect mud thresholds and do not get dirty when you get out of the car.

Self-adjusting air suspension promises the softest ride in the segment. All suspension and steering elements are reinforced for heavy terrain. Electronic suspension control makes over one million calculations per second, adjusting according to the conditions. At the back it relies on five shoulders. In the traditions of the brand, there are no complicated settings for different off-road modes. Instead, the customer receives a simple “Everywhere” button that prepares the off-road car. Depth of draft is 54 cm.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan is 5.34 meters long – just 2 mm longer than Ghost. The price is not yet known, but it is rumored to start at the order of 260,000 euros.
