Mitsubishi Lancer hybrid crossover

Mitsubishi Lancer hybrid crossover

A single image shows what the future of the Mitsubishi Lancer will be, and it seems to be quite different from the model’s existence so far. Mitsubishi will retain the name of one of its most popular models, but it will become a crossover with an interesting design and possibly hybrid drive.

The future Lancer will be a crossover from the C segment and will be a market rival of almost every car you think – from the Ford Focus to the Toyota C-HR. The Japanese brand is already part of the Renault-Nissan alliance, and since last year has also witnessed a significant increase in sales.

The upward trend is expected to continue as Mitsubishi’s new Trevor Man and Chief Designer Tsunehiro Kunimoto promise a whole new set of new models – all SUVs of the brand will have heirs and the company will present a new sub-compact model and the new Lancer.

The new Lancer will be built on the latest evolution of the Renault-Nissan CMF C / D platform, and it allows the use of a 4×4 and hybrid drive system that Mitsubishi already has. It is supposed that the hybrid drive system of the brand will soon appear in Renault and Nissan models.
