Mercedes-Benz expanded the E-Class family by adding hybrid sedan and wagon modifications. The identical versions of the passenger compartment and cabriolet were introduced in January, and now the AMG E43 range is now fully replaced.

All modifications of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 are equipped with a “moderate” hybrid unit. It includes a line-up 3.0-liter gasoline turbo engine with 6 cylinders, developing 435 hp. and 520 Nm, and built in the 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G starter-generator EQ Boost, which adds 22 hp. and 250 Nm.

The electric assistant improves the startup dynamics, recovers power and charges the 48 volt lithium-ion batteries. All vehicles in the series are equipped with AMG Performance 4MATIC + four-wheel drive system that can deliver all rear-wheel thrust and AMG RIDE CONTROL + adaptive suspension with Comfort, Sport and Sport + modes.

The sedan and the wagon accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The same result records the cabriolet, while the passenger compartment needs 4.4 seconds. As an option, it is possible to increase the maximum speed from 250 to 270 km/h.

In the AMG hierarchy, the new series replaces the E43 model, with sedan prices in Germany starting from 79,248 euros, and the wagon – from 82,038 euros. Sales start in the summer.
