Mercedes-Benz CLA second-generation will be officially presented at CES, but the company’s designers decide not to change the recipe that works well, so they focus on improving the appearance and interior.
Outside, the car looks more elegant due to its elongated body (CLA 2020 is longer and has an extended wheelbase), as well as sharper LED headlamps and tail lights that look like mini-versions of CLS. The model is 48 mm longer, 53 mm wider and 2 mm lower than the previous model.
The larger size favours passengers in the back, offering more space for legs, shoulders and elbows. Stylistically, the interior is a huge step forward as Mercedes-Benz CLA is identical to the new A-Class, adding the new MBUX infotainment system.
The compact body is easier for drive thanks to the new assistance features that include emergency braking, belt support and adaptive cruise control.
Mercedes-Benz will present CLA 250 at CES, which will be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine with 221 hp and 349 Nm of torque.
The units will be available with manual and automatic transmissions in front and all-wheel drive configuration.
