The top-of-the-line version of the new generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class – the AMG A 45, will receive an 8-speed DCT robotic gearbox, a new four-wheel drive system and a drift-control electronics mode. This revealed the Mercedes-AMG boss in an interview with CarAdvice.

According to Moers, the new Mercedes-AMG A 45 will be significantly different from the current car. The hat-hatch will rely on an engine with a power of over 400 hp, with a different attachment of the dampers and bearers as well as a completely new 4×4 system with a special drift mode. With the E 63 S, it allows the electronic stabilization system to be switched off, and in limited mode it is allowed to slip in limited limits.

The top-of-the-line version will feature the MUBX multimedia package and the AMG-style digital panel, which was shown on the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4Matic version (pictured). In addition, the hot hatch will also have a virtual AMG Track Pace racing assistant, which can record more than 80 track parameters on the track.

The current top-of-the-line A-Class – the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4Matic, relies on an upgraded 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder turbo engine developing 306 hp. and 400 Nm of torque. It works in combination with a 7-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 4.7 seconds.
