The large Japanese crossover Mazda CX-8, which has been on the domestic and Australian markets for some time, has reached China. Soon it will also appear in Europe and North America, although Mazda originally planned to sell it only in Japan.
For consumers in China, the crossover was a bit bigger than that for the Japanese and Australian markets, despite the same wheelbase of 2930 mm. The length increased by 55 mm to 4955 mm, the width by 2 mm to 1842 mm, while the height increased by 3 mm to 1733 mm.
Only seven-seater configuration will be offered to Chinese buyers, while a six-seat variant is available in other countries. The base price will be 37,500 USD, and the most expensive version will come to the Chinese market at nearly 49,000 USD.
The engine for the Mazda CX-8 is one – a 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G with 192 hp and 252 Nm of maximum torque. It works in conjunction with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The car will be available with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
