Japanese Mazda uses a car showroom in Beijing to showcase its CX-4 coupe crossover.
The new model is built on the basis of the Mazda CX-5 but is 78 mm longer (4633 mm) and 130 mm lower (1530 mm) from it. At the same time, the width – 1840 mm, and the distance between the two axes – 2700 mm, are identical. The ground clearance of the CX-4 is 196 mm – 14 mm less than the CX-5.
The cross-coupe will be available in the first place with two 4-cylinder petrol engines from the SkyActive family. These are a 2.0-liter 157 hp. and 2.5-liter, developing 191 hp. For the first, both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions are planned. For the latter there is only the automatic.
The Mazda CX-4 features a projection display, MZD Connect multimedia system with Bluetooth, USB and navigation, as well as a range of safety and driver assistant systems.
In the first place, the new model will only be available in China, but Mazda representatives have revealed to the media in Beijing that it is expected to appear in other markets, including the European ones. This is likely to happen in 2017.
