Kia Soul

The South Korean car maker Kia continues to work on the third generation of the model Soul, noting that its debut will take place at the Los Angeles auto show at the end of the month, and production will start in mid-2019.

In appearance, the future Kia Soul will be distinguished from its predecessor in the completely new main optics, including new headlights, daytime running lights and fog lights. The front bumper and radiator grille will be processed, and the rear lights will be in the form of a boomerang.

In the salon will be placed more quality materials, including items imitating precious stones. There will be a new leather steering wheel, as well as information and entertainment system with fully digital instrument panel.

The third generation of the car was built on the B-SUV platform, which is jointly developed by Hyundai and Kia. It allows the construction of the machine to be even stronger. In addition, Kia Soul will also receive the four-wheel drive system from Hyundai Kona.

The model will retain its current 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter engines. The basic version will rely on a 1.6-liter engine with 124 hp or 132 hp, and it will also have a turbo version with 204 hp. With the 2.0-liter unit, the power is 150 hp. The gearboxes are a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission with the same number of gears.

The main novelty of the model, however, is the electric version – Soul EV, which will significantly increase the range. It is said that the new Soul will get the same 64 kW/h battery, which is also available with the larger Hyundai Kona. This will allow a mileage of one 180 km to be increased to 480 km.
