Hyundai introduced the new generation of its Santa Fe crossover. Koreans showed a version for the domestic market, and the one for Europe will debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The model has received a new design that is entirely in the style of the latest cars of the march. The big breakthrough in the crossover is the 8-speed automatic transmission that replaces the current 6-speed transmission.
The dimensions of the SUV are 4770 mm long, 1890 mm wide, 1680 mm high and 2765 mm wide. So Santa Fe is 80 mm longer and 10 mm wider than its predecessor. The height is the same, but the wheelbase is 65 mm longer.
More high-strength steel has been used in the construction, with body stiffness rising by 15%. The coefficient of aerodynamic drag is reduced from 0.34 to 0.337.
The new Santa Fe will be offered with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a power of 235 hp, and two diesel – 2.0-liter, developing 186 and 2.2-liter with 202 hp. The crossover is available with both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
The vehicle’s equipment includes a front-end collision warning system, lane-down function, reverse parking assist, a circle surveillance camera system, high-beam steering, a driver’s status control function and a Rear Occupant Alert alerting kids forgotten in the rear seats.
The crossover has also received a projection display, adaptive cruise control, a multimedia suite with Sound Hound program that resolves the cabin music, a system to change the settings of the Eco, Comfort, Sport and Smart control electronics.
