Japanese manufacturer Honda first introduced a small crossover computer image that will be available under the name WR-V. The name translates as Winsome Runabout Vehicle – a glamorous little car.
The model will be presented at the beginning of next month at a Sao Paulo car show in Brasov. At the core of the WR-V is the platform of the compact Fit / Jazz van, which means the machine will be smaller in size than the crosshairs of the H-RV and CR-V brand.
According to the information, Honda’s future compact model will be available with front-wheel drive only. First of all, two engines are available for the WR-V – 1.2-liter gasoline i-VTEC with 87 hp and 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel with 98 hp. The units are combined with a 5-speed or 6-speed manual gearbox or a variable CVT transmission.
The small crossover has been developed for South America, where it will compete with Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport. The model will also be produced and marketed in India. Sales of the Honda WR-V will start in the spring of 2017.
