The Citroen Company has a fully electric version of its van Berlingo Multispace. The model under the name E-Berlingo will be able to travel about 170 km. with one charge of the batteries.
The new E-Berlingo Multispace is powered by a 66 hp electric motor. and 200 Nm of torque. The two lithium-ion batteries, located on both sides of the rear axle, have a power output of 22.5 kW. Recharging them in half through a dedicated charging station takes only 15 minutes, and their status can be tracked through a mobile application. However, if the batteries are charged in the standard mode, the time increases to 8 hours.
According to the company, the 170 km range is enough for one day. By comparison, according to the manufacturer’s data, Europeans travel about 60 km per day.
The company has included an additional range of remote control systems for some functions. These include, for example, pre-heating or cooling of the passenger compartment before accessing the vehicle. On the other hand, the navigation system provides information on speed limits in different areas, traffic information, and charging points available in the vehicle’s range.
The new E-Berlingo is expected to appear first in the UK in the third quarter of 2017 and then in continental Europe.
