The BMW group has doubled the sales of hybrid and electric models for the first quarter of 2017, reaching nearly 20,000 units. This was announced by the head of the German carmaker Harald Krueger after the publication of the financial statement for the period. He was categorical that electrification of the model range was one of BMW’s priorities.
Overall, the share of BMW’s “green” machinery remains slightly above 3%, but sales are rising. This is especially true for the hatchback i3, whose result for the period is doubled. Expectations are for the model to become even more successful with the release of the special version of Carbon Edition, which will be available in some European markets.
It differs from its standard color model – Carbon Black, 20-inch wheels and LED optics. The equipment includes a leather saloon, parking assist system, panoramic roof, Harman Kardon Audi, and a multimedia touchscreen complex.
The special modification will be available only for the i3 version with batteries with a capacity of 94 kW/h, starting at 53,731 euros.
