The presentation of the renewed British coupe Bentley Continental GT took place recently. It is positioned as a 2019 model car and is the most powerful representative of the prestigious brand.
Bentley enthusiasts can expect the same top-notch interior trimmings found in the coupe, as well. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen is front and center, though it can play hide and seek at the touch of a button. Complementing the center screen is a digital gauge cluster and massive sections of veneered wood running along the full length of the dash.
The car’s profile is, however, longer and lower than the previous generation as the front wheels have been moved forward 135mm which has allowed the bonnet to be extended and the nose to be lowered.
Under the cover of the test car is a powerful 6.0-liter W12 engine with two turbines, which is also mounted on the Bentayga crossover. However, it should be noted that the version of this engine in the Continental GT 2019 has received several changes. First, the engine has a maximum power of 626 hp, while the Bentayga has a power of 600 hp. Second, the engine no longer works with the old 8-speed automatic transmission. Instead, an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission from Porsche Panamera is installed.
Bentley Continental GT 2019 is a really very dynamic car with great acceleration and speed. It succeeded to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 sec and crosses 1/4 mile (402 m) in 11.81 sec.
