Audi Q8 gets weaker diesel engine

Audi Q8

Audi introduced a new modification of the Q8 crossover coupe, which has received a 45 TDI engine. This SUV is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel unit, which develops 231 hp and 500 Nm of torque.

The new version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, with a top speed of 233 km/h. In Germany, the Audi Q8 45 TDI prices start at 73,300 EUR. For comparison, in the last summer Q8 50 TDI, the same diesel engine developed 286 hp and 600 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. Its maximum speed is 250 km/h.

Simultaneously with the Q8 45 TDI, the German manufacturer launched the Q8 55 TFSI with the 3.0-liter V6, developing 340 hp and 500 Nm. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.9 seconds and the maximum speed is 250 km/h. The cost of this modification in Germany is 76,300 EUR.

Regardless of the internal combustion engine, all versions of the Audi Q8 are “soft hybrids”. They have a starter-generator that recovers the energy and charges the lithium-ion battery. This allows an average reduction of 0.7 l / 100 km. The units are combined with 8-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system.
