The new modification of Porsche Cayenne was spotted in Germany during tests. The company tested camouflaged prototype with sloping roofline and increased clearance. According to the information the new modification of Porsche Cayenne would be cross-coupe, which will have to compete with the BMW X6. It is expected that the next generation of the Cayenne to be presented in 2017, and the version cross-coupe to appear on the market about an year later. It is still not clear whether it will be sold under the brand Cayenne or Porsche plan to introduce a completely new name.
The engine range of the new modification of Porsche Cayenne will be taken from the second generation of the Panamera, debuted earlier this year. This means that the car will be equipped with 2.9-liter V6 with two turbines, developing 440 hp and maximum torque of 550 Nm. There will be a version with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 550 hp and maximum torque of 770 Nm. It is expected also Porsche to offer a hybrid modification.
The standard Porsche Cayenne has become the fastest crossover on the planet. According to chief of department of research and development at Porsche – Wolfgang Hatts, the new generation of large SUV will beat Bentley Bentayga. Most likely top version of the model will get a new turbo V8, thanks to which you can develop a speed of over 300 km/h.
